Tumor in the lesser sac.

چکیده
Clinical case: A 46 year-old patient, with no significant past medical history or family medical history, complaining of mild epigastric discomfort and weight loss during the past year was examined by abdominal ultrasound. During the US examination a 11/9.5/6.5cm mass was identified anterior to the body and tail of the pancreas, and posterior to the stomach, in the area of the lesser sac (fig. 1). The 3D reconstruction of the tumor establishes its origin in the posterior gastric wall and reveals its internal structure (fig. 2): well-defined, with complex echostructure, heterogeneous, predominantly parenchymal, but also with a 3/3 cm fluid area (probably necrosis). The Doppler examination revealed peripheral and central vascularization. Relatively high maximum flow velocity (20-25 cm/s) and impedance indices (RI=0.8-0.9, PI=22.4) were recorded (fig. 3). The abdominal ultrasound also revealed mild splenomegaly and a small accessory spleen.

Primary Teratoma of the Lesser Sac: Lesser Sac Teratoma
Germ cell tumors predominantly involve the gonads but may rarely be found outside of the gonads, primarily in midline structures. We describe the case of a 27-year-old male with an asymptomatic 8 cm teratoma located within the lesser sac of his omentum. This is the fourth case of a teratoma located within the lesser sac of the omentum, which provides the opportunity to make some comparisons. Fi...

The lesser sac is located anterior to the pancreas and immediately posterior to the body of the stomach (1-3). Caudate lobe liver and splenic artery are also the parts of the lesser sac (4). A fluid collection in the lesser sac in not a typical manifestation of benign ascites, and its presence should direct a search for a pathologic condition in neighboring organs (5). We present a 38year-old m...

Hepatoid variant of yolk sac tumor of ovary is an unusual tumor with an aggressive behavior. It is usually observed in young females, presents with abdominal complaints and is associated with raised α-fetoprotein (AFP) levels. متن کاملMinimally Invasive Management of Lesser Sac Bronchogenic Cyst
Bronchogenic cysts rarely develop in the abdomen they typically reside in the mediastinum. We present a unique case of a bronchogenic cyst within the lesser sac. Endoscopic ultrasound proved to be a critical diagnostic tool, and the patient underwent a laparoscopic resection of the lesion.
متن کاملEwing's Sarcoma of the Lesser Sac Masquerading as a Pancreatic Tumor
Extraosseous Ewing's sarcoma/primitive neuroectodermal tumor (ES/PNET) is an uncommon, aggressive, and malignant tumor with a poor patient outcome. Its occurrence in the lesser sac is a rare event and to the best of our knowledge, has not been previously described. The present case was clinically and radiologically misdiagnosed as a pancreatic tumor/gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Histopatholog...
متن کاملYOLK SAC TUMOR OF VAGINA
Malignant germ-cell tumors (MGCT) are rare tumors of childhood accounting for less than 3% of pediatric malignancies. Endodermal sinus tumor (EST) forms the most common histologic subtype of MGCT. The vagina is an extremely rare site for GCTs. An 8-month-old female was admitted with a short history of vaginal bleeding, and a mass protruding from the vagina. She was pale and a mass was palpab...
